Femtosecond pulse x-ray imaging with a large field of view
نویسندگان
چکیده
Femtosecond pulse x-ray imaging is demonstrated in a samplemultiplexed Fourier transform holography scheme. Parallel imaging of multiple samples over an extended field of view is achieved by exploiting the coherence properties of the free-electron laser (FEL) source and the large profile of the unfocused x-ray pulse. The resulting photon flux density per pulse allows for damage-free single-pulse imaging with moderate image resolution. We envision the application of the method for femtosecond time-resolved pump–probe experiments with the feasibility of recording multiple steps in time with a single pulse. Furthermore, the scheme presented allows for a characterization of FEL radiation pulse parameters. 5 Authors to whom any correspondence should be addressed. Spatial Profile Measurement of Femtosecond Laser - Compton X-rays
A femtosecond X-ray source was developed by Thomson scattering through interaction between a lowemittance picosecond electron beam and a terawatt femtosecond laser light at 90 configuration. The observed X-ray intensity with peak energy of 2.3 keV and pulse duration of 270 fs rms was typically 1.4x10 photons/pulse. The pulse-to-pulse fluctuation of the X-ray intensity was measured to be 25%. Th...
متن کاملGeometric distortion evaluation of magnetic resonance images by a new large field of view phantom for magnetic resonance based radiotherapy purposes
Background: The magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-based radiotherapy planning method have been considered in recent years because of the advantages of MRI and the problems of planning with two images modality. The first step in MRI-based radiotherapy is to evaluate magnetic resonance (MR) images geometric distortion. Therefore, the present study aimed to evaluate system related geometric distort...
متن کاملThe study of propagation of a femtosecond laser pulse in the breast tissue
In this paper, the evaluation of time profile of a femtosecond pulse laser propagated through biological tissues is studied. The majority of the biological tissues with a high scattering anisotropy must be considered as turbid media, that their optical responses are complicated. To study the propagation of ultra-short pulse in turbid media, the diffuse equation is used. In this study, the analy...
متن کاملX-ray generation by femtosecond laser pulses and its application to soft X-ray imaging microscope
We have developed laser-produced plasma X-ray sources using femtosecond laser pulses at lOHz repetition rate in a table-top size in order to investigate basic mechanism of X-ray emission from laser-matter interactions and its application to a X-ray microscope. In a soft X-ray region over 5 nm wavelength, laser-plasma X-ray emission from a solid target achieved an intense flux of photons of the ...

In nanotechnology, strategies for the creation and manipulation of nanoparticles in the gas phase are critically important for surface modification and substrate-free characterization. Recent coherent diffractive imaging with intense femtosecond X-ray pulses has verified the capability of single-shot imaging of nanoscale objects at suboptical resolutions beyond the radiation-induced damage thre...
